HotBites User Agreement

Welcome to HotBites! This User Agreement ("Agreement") governs your use of the HotBites mobile application, website, and related services ("Services"). By creating an account, accessing, or using HotBites, you agree to be bound by this Agreement.

If you do not agree with this Agreement, please do not use our Services.

1. Who We Are

HotBites is a recipe discovery platform that allows users to explore recipes, save favorites, submit HotTips, and send ingredients through third-party services (such as Instacart) to shop. HotBites is developed and maintained by The HotBites Platform, based in Fort Worth, Texas.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use HotBites. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the app only with involvement of a parent or guardian.

3. Your Account

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You agree not to impersonate others or create accounts with false information.

4. User Content

HotBites allows you to save favorite recipes and submit HotTips ("User Content").

By submitting User Content, you agree that:

  • You grant HotBites a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content in connection with the app and promotional purposes.
  • You retain ownership of your content.
  • You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the necessary rights to post and share it.
  • You will not post content that is illegal, offensive, infringing, or harmful.
  • HotTips should be honest, respectful, and relevant to the recipe experience.

5. Recipe Discovery and Favorites

  • HotBites provides a platform for discovering recipes from various sources.
  • You can bookmark recipes to your favorites for easy access later.
  • Favorites are personal to your account and help you organize recipes you want to try or have enjoyed.

6. Third-Party Services (Including Instacart)

  • HotBites may offer the ability to send recipe ingredients through third-party services, including Instacart.
  • When you use Instacart or similar services through our app, you are using a separate service operated by that third party.
  • Your use of Instacart is subject to Instacart's own terms of service, privacy policy, and pricing.
  • HotBites does not control and is not responsible for the availability, content, delivery, or quality of goods or services provided by Instacart or any other third-party shopping service.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
  • Upload viruses or malicious code.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or interfere with the platform's operation.
  • Harvest data or user information without consent.

8. Ownership and Intellectual Property

  • All intellectual property related to the HotBites platform (excluding User Content) is owned by HotBites and protected by copyright and trademark laws.
  • You may not copy, distribute, or modify any part of the Services without prior written permission from HotBites.

9. Termination

  • We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violating this Agreement or misusing the platform.
  • You may also delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your content (including favorites and HotTips) may still be retained or displayed by HotBites where necessary for community benefit.

10. Disclaimers

HotBites is provided "as is." We do not guarantee the accuracy, safety, or results of any recipe or recommendation on the platform. Always use your best judgment when cooking or consuming ingredients.

We are not responsible for any injuries, damages, or losses resulting from your use of the app.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HotBites and its affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services.

12. Changes to This Agreement

We may update this Agreement from time to time. Continued use of the Services after changes are made means you accept the revised terms.
